What makes TAMA® soaps with high shea butter content stand out?

The composition of TAMA® white soap includes as much as 50% unrefined shea butter, which is characterized by a high proportion of “unsaponifiables” triglycerides.
This means that during the production of soap with shea butter, about 11% does not react with sodium or potassium hydroxide. For comparison, this portion in avocado oil is 6%, in sesame oil 1.5%, and in olive oil 1.2%. Such a large unsaponifiable portion has a strong nourishing effect on the skin, and our white soaps contain 50% pure butter, which definitely makes them stand out on the Polish market. It's a block of African unrefined oils composition, called “washing butter” in Africa.

It's worth remembering that daily cleansing has a huge impact on the condition and appearance of our skin, which is why it's so important to take care in choosing the right cleansing products.

Oil cleansing is a very gentle method of cleaning the skin, effectively removing body oils, dirt, and makeup residues from the face. Oils do not disrupt the natural hydrolipid layer and do not cause overproduction of sebum. It's definitely the best way to care for dry, sensitive, dehydrated, or sun- or sea salt-irritated skin daily. It’s also perfect for mature skin or skin prone to allergies and sensitivities. By using our soap during cleansing, you provide your skin with a big dose of vitamins A, E, F, and natural antioxidants. Our white TAMA® soap is also perfect for caring for delicate and sensitive children's skin.

So what's the actual composition of shea butter?

Shea butter is mainly made up of five fatty acids:

Allantoin – speeds up the healing of cuts, irritations, and inflammations, and helps with moisturizing and regenerating

Vitamin A – slows down the skin's aging processes by stimulating it to produce larger amounts of collagen,

Vitamin E – a powerful antioxidant that increases collagen in the skin and slows down the aging of skin cells, neutralizes free radicals, and helps during acne treatment,

Vitamin F – prevents the skin's epithelium from drying out and hardening.

Gamma-linolenic acid (GLA) – has preventive and healing effects for: irritated and itchy skin, eczema, allergic rash, seborrheic acne, skin inflammations, and some cases of psoriasis.

Cinnamic acid and gallic acid – they have antibacterial, anti-inflammatory, and antioxidant properties.

It's the ingredients and the high content of unrefined shea butter that make our African soaps so special!
